Kristi Pupo is a Sydney based artist whom seeks and investigates inner truths and earth bound relationships with people, places and objects. Enlightenment practices have guided her in contemplating alternate fields of existence, parallel universes, spiritual embodiment and metaphysics. Pupo explores these themes in her studio practice combining ceramics, performance and installation. Working with ceramics means that the elements of earth, fire, air and water are the core of each artistic process.

As an artist, designer and curator Pupo embarked on a Taoist journey travelling and exhibiting in various islands of Indonesia from 2012-2017. Here influences of magic and mysticism shaped her thought in both body and mind and manifest in the objects and environments she creates.
Pupo immerses herself into psychoanalytical and holistic teachings that liberate the imagination while reviving the supernatural and occult, examining Freudian, Platonist and Lacanian theories in adjacent to modernity, surrealism and speculations of disenchantment. A methodological order combining aspects of astrology, numerology and mythology align with Pupos everyday rituals and intentions thus blurring the line between art and life by creating her very own imaginarium.
